Media and Me online: Digital excursion with the NFSA
NFSA are now offering a free, interactive, live media literacy excursion to help students build critical media literacy skills and explore how media shapes their world. Students will investigate the techniques used to capture attention, stir emotions and persuade audiences through hands-on analysis of media from the NFSA collection.
Students will explore:
- How do different forms of media influence us?
- What techniques do creators use to engage and persuade?
- What does it mean to be a media-literate citizen?
Year levels: 5-6 program, and 9-10 program
Duration: 45 minutes
Australian curriculum alignment: Year 5 and 6 program: English, HASS, Health and Physical Education, Media Arts. Year 9 and 10 program: English, Civics and Citizenship, Health and Physical Education.
General Curriculum priorities: Literacy, Critical and Creative Thinking, Information Communication Technology
