Join the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia at Arc Cinema in Canberra for a screening of While We Watched (2022), a riveting documentary about the importance of independent news media and its relevance in an age of misinformation and competing arguments.  

The film explores the impact of news media during India’s 2019 parliamentary elections. It also serves as a catalyst for significant conversations about media literacy and our democracy in Australia.

This screening will be followed by a conversation with Dr Sora Park from the University of Canberra, Samantha Maiden (News Limited), Karen Middleton (The Saturday Paper) and Ronald Mizen (Australian Financial Review) to celebrate Media Literacy Week.
