The School News Project partners with primary schools to establish and run student-led school newspapers via their Press Gang News Program –  an immersive learning experience where students become reporters and learn on the job. Press Gang Day is an annual event that gives student reporters from different schools an opportunity to come together for some skills development and collaboration.

This year, Press Gang Day falls during Media Literacy Week and will focus on fighting misinformation. Student reporters will work together to create a media literacy video, ‘Let’s Bust Fake News’, aimed at primary school students. The finished video will form part of a free media literacy resource.
