AMLA welcome a new Chair

Professor Michael Dezuanni will serve as the Chair of AMLA 2025-2027.

Michael leads the Creating Better Digital Futures program in the Digital Media Research Centre and is a Chief Investigator in the ARC Centre of Excellence for the Digital Child at Queensland University of Technology. He has been involved in media literacy education for over 30 years, as a secondary school teacher, teacher educator and researcher. He has published four books and over fifty peer reviewed journal articles related to media literacy.  Michael was an expert advisor to ACARA for the development of Media Arts in the Australian Curriculum.

AMLA thank the departing chair Anita Planchon for her strong leadership over the past 18 months. Christine Evely, Head of Education at ACMI, will continue in the role of Deputy Chair (2024-2026).
